Service

This ITS service facilitates a self-service portal designed for Campus IT Services groups to independently provision and host server(s) within ITS-managed environments (Trojan Cloud: encompassing Public Cloud – AWS and Private Cloud – CAL Datacenter). As a part of this service, ITS Platform Services will manage all server Operating Systems (OS) established through this portal as specified under ITS’ Managed OS Hosting Service.

Please be aware that the Trojan Cloud service does not encompass management for pre-existing customer environments, such as colocation facilities, server rooms, data centers, or other clouds. It is important to note that this service is distinct from Datacenter consolidation. However, the option to request network routing between Trojan Cloud nodes and non-Trojan Cloud nodes is possible by initiating a service request with the FW Services team.

IT Operations (Provisioning, Monitoring and Optimization)

Trojan Cloud (the portal) enables campus IT units to self-provision servers into ITS Infrastructure managed Private Cloud (CAL-VMware) and Public Cloud (AWS). A key aspect of the portal is the ability for Trojan Cloud customers to request from a centralized catalog of curated items. Besides provisioning, the catalog items will include resource right sizing, server power on and off, and de-provisioning.

Security (Secure and Compliance)

Trojan Cloud is built on USC’s security framework. This includes hardened operating systems and security agents, secured networks, security monitoring, OS performance and health monitoring, and monthly OS security patching services.

Finance (Cost Management and Resource Optimization)

The Cost Management dashboard provides information on current spent, forecast, and optimization guidance, allowing the customer to understand and allocate accurately.
