This feature allows you to forward both incoming internal and external calls. With call forwarding, you can send all of your calls to your cell phone (or any other phone) when you are going to be away from your desk for an extended period of time.
How you set up call forwarding on your telephone will depend on which telephone set you use. Please see the instructions below.
Setting Up Call Forwarding (Avaya 2420 and 9630)
To program and activate call fowarding:
If you are forwarding to a USC number, pick up the receiver and wait for a dial tone. Enter *10 followed by the 5-digit extension.
If you are forwarding to a line in the same area code, dial 9 followed by the telephone number. You will hear a confirmation tone.
If you are forwarding to a number in a different area code, dial 9 and then 1, the area code, and the telephone number. You will hear a confirmation tone.
To deactivate call forwarding:
Pick up the receiver and wait for a dial tone. Enter #10. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Setting Up Call Forwarding (Tone Commander 6220 and Cortelco 2211, 2700, and 2730)
To program call forwarding:
- Pick up the receiver and wait for a dial tone.
- Enter *26 followed by the five-digit extension or the number where you would like the calls to be forwarded.
- If you are forwarding to an on campus number enter five digits only. (Dial tone + *26 + the five-digit extension)
- If you are forwarding to a line in the same area code, enter 9 followed by the telephone number. (Dial tone + *26 + 9+ seven-digit number)
- If you are forwarding to an off campus number, enter 9 followed by 1, the area code, and the telephone number. You will hear a confirmation tone. (Dial tone + *26 + 9 + 1 + area code + seven-digit phone number)
To activate call forwarding:
- Press the Forward button. The button should light up indicating that call forwarding has been activated.
- You may also activate the forwarding by accessing dial tone and entering *30.
- You will hear a confirmation tone.
To deactivate call forwarding:
- Press the Forward button. The light should turn off. This indicates that call forwarding has been deactivated.
- Call forwarding can also be deactivated by accessing the dial tone and entering #30.
- You will hear a confirmation tone.
