USC Slack is a collaboration and communication hub for students, faculty and staff that helps teams work together and collaborate with people online as efficiently as they do face-to-face. With Slack, groups can collaborate within channels that are focused on a specific topic which could be a course, a project, a club, a committee or whatever else is needed.
Features
- Enables efficient teamwork: Workspaces bring large groups together to ensure people are connected to the right people at the right time. Slack channels offer the ability to create organized communication groups from across USC focused on specific topics, so you can ensure that messages go to only the people who want to see them and need to see them. This often reduces the need for meetings and gets topic related messages out of the jumble of your email box and into one consolidated location for your team to share.
- Provides rich interactive tools: Slack offers extensive emoji reactions to individual messages, polling, user analytics, detailed control of your notifications and other tools to make sure your interactions are engaging and useful.
- Organizes everything you need into one platform: Slack combines all your work into one single platform, so you rarely need to switch platforms while working. Office 365 integrations provide seamless sharing and collaboration capabilities with all Office 365 programs, including OneDrive, and Outlook Calendar. If you ever need to convert a conversation to a call, immediately create a Zoom meeting with the Zoom integration feature. Slack has over 2,000 commonly used apps that can be integrated into your workspace to support how your team works.
