This page provides instructions on configuring your Storage Application And Network Data Services (SANDS) account to connect to the new SANDS server. The page also provides instructions for resetting the password for your active directory account.
Resetting Your Active Directory Password
Before connecting to SANDS, you may need to reset your password for your active directory account. To reset this password, please visit the ITS Password Change web page.
Connecting to SANDS
Once you have reset your active directory password, follow the steps below.
- In the Finder, select Go and click Connect to Server. The Connect to Server dialog box will appear.
- In the Address field, enter afp://sands-afp and click Connect.
- The Login dialog box will appear. Enter your ADS Username and Password and click Connect. Your ADS username is the same as your email username with ads\ added to the front, e.g., ads\ttrojan.
- Your remote SANDS volume will mount to your computer and should be located on your desktop. Open the volume by double-clicking it and navigate the nested folders to your home directory.
Note: By default, Mac OS X shows all remote and local volumes on the desktop. If you have changed the default setting, you will need to go to the Finder and select Go from the menu to see the remote and local volumes.
