The Fall Semester Digital Course Materials Program launched this term in partnership with eFollett and the USC Bookstore. The program provides undergraduate and progressive degree students with access to all required course materials for a single price. Key benefits include reduced student costs, flexible access across devices, a cohesive learning experience, and support for academic freedom, excellence, and equity through unrestricted access to a wide selection of materials and publishers. Students also have the option to opt out at any time without penalty.
ITS partnered with Auxiliary Services and the USC Bookstore to bring this program to life by developing essential data integrations between the student system and Follett and connecting Follett tools with the Brightspace learning management system within a very tight timeline. ITS also contributed resources to create and implement a strong communication plan for the USC Bookstore that increased campus awareness, provided support, and encouraged successful adoption.
According to Follett, as of September 25, 2025, student participation reached 83.7 percent in the first term, representing 15,628 undergraduates. Students collectively saved a total of 2.9 million dollars through the program.
