As a dedicated member of ITS and chair of the Rules and Elections Committee for the USC Staff Assembly, Software Engineering Manager Harpreet Mehta, alongside her committed committee members, led this year’s Staff Assembly election process with heart, clarity, and purpose.



Together, Harpreet and her committee members successfully coordinated the 2025–27 Staff Assembly senator election, filling 29 of 30 open seats. Through thoughtful planning and a strong commitment to fairness and inclusion, the committee created a smooth and transparent experience for all participants.
Their efforts did not go unnoticed. Staff Assembly President Stacey Croomes and the officers of the Assembly expressed sincere appreciation for the professionalism, transparency, and innovation Harpreet and her committee members brought to the process. They especially praised the committee’s collaborative spirit, noting how effectively Harpreet fostered partnerships across departments and encouraged broad engagement throughout the election cycle.
Highlights from this year’s work included launching a new “Willingness to Serve” survey, strengthening outreach across campus, and handling tie-breakers with integrity and fairness. Harpreet and the committee members also took steps to improve future election cycles by thoroughly documenting procedures and recommending enhancements.
This year’s success was a true committee achievement. Harpreet’s leadership and her committee members’ dedication exemplify USC’s unifying values and the ITS spirit of collaboration, service, and continuous improvement. Their work has left a lasting impact on the Staff Assembly and the broader staff community.
