Calling Capabilities and Access Levels

This page provides information about the telephone numbers you can reach using your USC telephone.

Most USC telephones are assigned an access level of 7, which means they can be used to call the telephone numbers listed for levels 1 through 7 on the chart below.

2     All USC Housing buildings
3     Limited local exchange – 12-mile radius
4     800, 877, and 888 numbers
5     411
6     Local AT&T service area including local information dialing (555-1212), excluding area codes: 619/661/714/760/805/909/949
7     UPC and HSC campuses and 714/909/949 area codes including local information (555-1212) dialing
8     Area codes including 700 and 900
9     All Southern California area codes, 619/661/714/760/805/909/949, including local information (555-1212) dialing
10     All of California including local information (555-1212) dialing
11     Pacific and Mountain time zones in the Continental United States including local information (555-1212) dialing
12     Central time zone in the Continental United States including local information (555-1212) dialing
13     Eastern and Atlantic time zones in the Continental United States including local information (555-1212) dialing
14     North America including Hawaii and the Caribbean time zones
15     International (unrestricted)

Note: All 976 prefixes and 611 will be restricted from any campus phone.
