Phone Set Purchasing

Departments can purchase new phone sets directly from ITS for a one-time charge. Departments have the option of purchasing phone sets from third-party vendors; sets must meet ITS phone set requirements. For information on these requirements, see the phone set requirements below.

Phone Set Pricing and Features

The chart below details the pricing and features of the phone sets available through ITS. Additional information on these phone sets can be found by clicking the phone set name in the navigation menu of this page or by going to itservices.usc.edu/phonesets.

All phones are programmed with the following features: call forwarding, conference, transfer, drop, hold, speakerphone, message waiting indication, caller ID, and automatic call back. Information on these and other advanced features can be found at itservices.usc.edu/phonesets.

NOTE: These prices do not include jack activation, installation, or licensing. Please contact the Communications Services Group (CSG) by submitting a request via a Communication Service Request (CSR) (USC NetID Login Required) for this information.

Phone Set Requirements

The phone sets required for your office/building vary based on the type of service being provided:

  • Digital: Avaya 24xx series phone set or any digital set compatible with an Avaya Private Branch Exchange (PBX). An ITS technician may need to configure the phone set in order for the digital line to work properly.
  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP): Avaya 96xx series phone set or any VoIP set compatible with an Avaya PBX. An ITS technician may need to configure the phone set in order for the VoIP line to work properly
  • Analog: Any analog phone set will work on an ITS-provisioned analog line.

NOTE: Analog and single-line digital phone sets are not covered under ITS-maintained Phone Set Maintenance.
