Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Required for ALL VPN Connections as of April 17

Starting this Friday, April 17 at 10:00 p.m., all AnyConnect VPN users (students, faculty, staff, and iVIP affiliates) will be required to use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) from Duo to safely connect to VPN. Duo’s additional security features enable our remote workforce and students to log in securely and easily.

A top priority for Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) is to protect our Trojan community from information security threats, and provide a safe, inclusive learning environment for our students, faculty and staff.

Given the current state of the world and USC’s recent transition to teaching, learning and working online, we are faced with evolving information security threats. To proactively protect our community and USC’s resources and information, the OCISO is taking additional measures to enhance online security.

For Existing Duo Users

For New Duo Users

If you are a student or affiliate account holder that has not previously been enrolled in Duo 2FA, you will be walked through enrolling in Duo for VPN the first time you log into AnyConnect VPN after this change.
