Zoom, USC videoconferencing platform, has released its latest version, Zoom 5.0. This new version includes enhanced security measures such as stronger data encryption, security controls and other safeguards. Full details on all the enhancements included in Zoom 5.0 can be found on the Zoom 5.0 webpage.
To continue to connect to Zoom after May 30, students, faculty and staff will need to upgrade both their desktop and mobile versions of Zoom.
If you have not been prompted already to upgrade your Zoom Client to the new 5.0 version, please follow these instructions:
- Log into your Zoom Client with your USC Net ID
- Click on your profile icon at the top right of the page.
- Select “Check for Updates” and proceed with the upgrade to Zoom version 5.0
- If you are prompted for an admin password and you are not an admin on your computer, please contact your Local IT Support for assistance.
