Kuali Financial System

The Kuali Financial System (KFS) is a suite of online software modules that enables users to process several different types of business transactions online, from initiation through the approval cycle.

KFS creates a paperless environment that automates administrative services, provides an online history, enhances the tracking of transactions, and improves accountability. In coordination with KFS, Kuali Enterprise Workflow (KEW) routes non-financial documents online.

KFS and KEW include modules for applications in the General Ledger, Purchasing and Accounts Payable, Cashiering, and more.

Eligibility

All current USC faculty and staff are eligible to use KFS and KEW.

Getting Started

All active employees can login to KFS and KEW using their USC NetID username and password. However, access to most Kuali modules requires a formal departmental request and approval by the Office of the Comptroller.

To request access, users must use the User Access Request Document on the Workflow Main Menu. Follow the instructions on this link to request access.

Technical Requirements

Users must access the Kuali Financial System from either the Internet Explorer (Win) and Safari (Mac) web browser.

Pricing

KFS and KEW are free administrative services.

System Availability

KFS/KEW is generally available every day from 4:00 am to midnight. The typical windows for planned maintenance and upgrades are Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. If the system is unavailable during regular operating hours, please consult the following resources for additional information:

  • Outage notifications and alerts are posted at the top of the ITS website.
  • Scheduled maintenance notices are posted in the left column of the ITS home page in the Scheduled Maintenance section. Scheduled maintenance notices are also available on a separate page.
